Adrian Yanez vs Randy Costa — Fight recap

Adrian Yanez defeated Randy Costa by knockout in the second round at 2:11 on July 24, 2021. Despite being significantly outstruck through the first half of their bantamweight clash—Costa landed 69 significant strikes to Yanez's 64—Yanez's precision proved decisive.

Yanez connected on 41 head strikes and landed all 19 of his leg-kick attempts, establishing a striking pattern that compromised Costa's mobility and defense. The fight remained entirely on the feet with neither fighter attempting takedowns or securing meaningful control time.

Yanez's knockout came from accumulated damage rather than a single exchange, as Costa's 45% significant strike accuracy couldn't overcome Yanez's superior shot selection and leg work in the pocket. The victory marked Yanez's arrival as a rising bantamweight prospect capable of closing fights against durable opposition.
