Alexandre Pantoja vs Joshua Van — Fight recap

Joshua Van defeated Alexandre Pantoja by KO/TKO in the first round at 0:26 on December 6, 2025, with referee Herb Dean officiating. Despite landing 6 of 11 significant strikes (54%) compared to Van's 2 of 4 (50%), Pantoja couldn't weather the early onslaught.

The fight remained entirely striking-based with neither fighter attempting takedowns or establishing control time, but Van's precision proved decisive in the opening seconds. Pantoja's output included 4 of 8 head strikes and distributed his offense across the body and legs, yet the explosive exchange favored Van's placement.

The lightning-quick finish marks a significant upset in the flyweight division and raises questions about Pantoja's current form at the elite level.
