Angela Hill vs Virna Jandiroba — Fight recap

Virna Jandiroba defeated Angela Hill via unanimous decision over three rounds on May 14, 2022. Despite Hill's superior striking efficiency—landing 21 of 55 significant strikes (38%) compared to Jandiroba's 14 of 60 (23%)—the Brazilian controlled the fight through wrestling and positional dominance.

Jandiroba secured three takedowns and accumulated 7:04 of control time versus Hill's 2:08, establishing a grappling framework that frustrated Hill's striking game. Hill managed one successful takedown and landed cleaner combinations, particularly to the head with 14 of 42 strikes there, but couldn't overcome Jandiroba's cage control and wrestling pressure across all three rounds.

The unanimous decision reflected Jandiroba's ability to dictate the fight's pace despite lower striking output. The win kept Jandiroba competitive in the strawweight rankings and positioned her as a wrestling-heavy threat in the division.
