Anthony Pettis vs Donald Cerrone — Fight recap

Anthony Pettis knocked out Donald Cerrone with a TKO in the first round at 2:35, establishing dominant striking superiority from the opening bell. Pettis landed 18 of 28 significant strikes (64%) with surgical precision, including 13 head strikes from 21 attempts, while Cerrone managed only 4 of 12 significant strikes (33%).

The striking differential proved decisive as Pettis scored a knockdown and controlled the pace entirely, forcing referee Robert Madrigal to stop the fight before further damage occurred. Neither fighter attempted takedowns, keeping the contest purely on the feet where Pettis's superior speed and accuracy overwhelmed Cerrone's typically aggressive approach.

The quick finish elevated Pettis's profile in the lightweight division and signaled his readiness for title contention.
