Charles Oliveira vs Ricardo Lamas — Fight recap

Ricardo Lamas defeated Charles Oliveira via submission in the second round at 1:13 on November 5, 2016. Despite Oliveira's superior striking efficiency—landing 13 of 18 significant strikes (72%) compared to Lamas's 11 of 20 (55%)—and successfully executing both of his takedown attempts, Oliveira's control time of 3:37 proved insufficient to secure victory.

Lamas capitalized on his lone takedown and converted his submission attempt into a finish, controlling the action for 2:27. Oliveira's grappling dominance and head-strike accuracy (11 of 16) couldn't overcome the decisive submission, marking a significant setback for the Brazilian prospect's featherweight trajectory at the time.
