Edmen Shahbazyan vs Jack Hermansson — Fight recap

Jack Hermansson defeated Edmen Shahbazyan via unanimous decision over three rounds on May 22, 2021, outstriking the Armenian prospect 55 of 100 significant strikes (55%) to Shahbazyan's 40 of 92 (43%). Hermansson's grappling prowess proved decisive, landing three takedowns at a 50% clip while controlling the cage for 7:11 compared to Shahbazyan's 1:51, establishing a methodical wrestling-heavy approach that Shahbazyan couldn't overcome despite landing 34 head strikes.

The Swedish middleweight's superior control time and striking volume across all three rounds secured all three scorecards, halting Shahbazyan's momentum in the division. The loss suggested Hermansson remained a top-tier threat at 185 pounds while exposing gaps in Shahbazyan's defensive wrestling against elite competition.
