Jamall Emmers defeated Khusein Askhabov by unanimous decision at 5:00 of Round 3 on Feb. 18, 2023. Emmers dictated the tactical pattern by combining cleaner striking with sustained positional control, landing 62 of 144 significant strikes at a 43% rate while Askhabov connected on just 30 of 114 at 26%.

Askhabov frequently looked to turn the matchup into a grappling contest, but Emmers defended all six takedown attempts and prevented him from establishing meaningful control. Emmers also completed one of his three takedown attempts and accumulated 4:45 of control time, compared with only 0:58 for Askhabov.

On the feet, Emmers varied his offense effectively, scoring 27 significant strikes to the head, 18 to the body and 17 to the legs. Neither fighter recorded a knockdown, but Emmers’ superior accuracy, defensive wrestling and ability to control where the exchanges occurred gave him a clear advantage across three rounds.
