Jessica Andrade vs Rose Namajunas — Fight recap

Jessica Andrade defeated Rose Namajunas via KO/TKO in round two at 1:58, reclaiming the strawweight title in a stunning upset at UFC 237. Andrade landed 47 of 105 significant strikes (44%) while controlling the fight's pace despite being the smaller fighter, landing particularly effective leg strikes with 19 of 20 attempts connecting.

Namajunas, the defending champion, out-landed Andrade in total significant strikes with 55 of 125 (44%) and scored one knockdown, but failed to convert her two takedown attempts and couldn't maintain control time, managing only 29 seconds compared to Andrade's 38 seconds. Andrade's aggressive forward pressure and leg-kick strategy systematically broke down Namajunas, who appeared to lose her range and timing as the round progressed.

The finish came when Andrade's relentless combinations forced Namajunas to wilt, prompting referee Marc Goddard to stop the action. The result sent shockwaves through the division and immediately sparked discussion of a trilogy fight between the two former champions.
