Karine Silva vs Viviane Araujo — Fight recap

Viviane Araujo defeated Karine Silva by unanimous decision over three rounds on November 16, 2024, with referee Marc Goddard officiating. Despite Silva's volume output of 58 significant strikes landed at 43 percent accuracy, Araujo's precision proved decisive: she landed 48 significant strikes at a superior 56 percent clip while converting all three of her takedown attempts with perfect efficiency.

Silva managed only one successful takedown from seven attempts and controlled the mat for 3:30 total, but Araujo's grappling dominance—including a 100 percent takedown conversion rate—combined with cleaner striking fundamentals secured the judges' nod. Silva's leg kick volume of 22 landed strikes showed tactical intent, yet Araujo's head strike accuracy of 34 connected shots and overall cage control proved more impactful across the fifteen minutes.

This victory reinforces Araujo's credentials in the women's flyweight division and positions her for a step up in competition.
