Rose Namajunas vs Zhang Weili — Fight recap

Rose Namajunas knocked out Zhang Weili via TKO in the first round at 2:18, reclaiming the strawweight title with a devastating striking display. Despite landing only 5 of 10 significant strikes at 50 percent accuracy, Namajunas found the mark with precision, connecting on all five head strikes and scoring a knockdown that proved decisive.

Zhang entered the exchanges aggressively, landing 7 of 11 significant strikes at 63 percent accuracy and landing all six leg kicks, but Namajunas' superior timing and distance management allowed her to slip the challenger's combinations and counter with devastating effect. The fight saw minimal grappling from either fighter, with both remaining on their feet throughout the brief engagement.

The upset victory marked a stunning redemption for Namajunas after losing the title to Zhang in their previous meeting and positioned her as a legitimate force in the division once again.
