Vitor Belfort vs Wanderlei Silva — Fight recap

Vitor Belfort defeated Wanderlei Silva by KO/TKO in the first round at 0:44, establishing himself as a devastating striker in the heavyweight division. Belfort landed 7 of 13 significant strikes (53%) with all seven connecting to the head, while Silva managed only 1 of 2 significant strikes before being overwhelmed.

The Brazilian phenom's explosive hand speed and precision proved too much for Silva to handle in the opening moments, resulting in a knockdown that John McCarthy stopped immediately. The lopsided striking differential and early finish underscored Belfort's emerging status as one of the division's most dangerous finishers.
