Bo Nickal

Bo Nickal, a 28-year-old southpaw middleweight with an 8-1 professional record, is a well-rounded grappler who has built his UFC career on elite takedown defense and submission prowess. Averaging 3.10 takedowns per 15 minutes with 55% accuracy and a perfect 100% takedown defense rate, Nickal controls fights through wrestling while landing 3.35 strikes per minute at 61% accuracy.

His submission average of 2.5 per 15 minutes underscores his threat off his back and in dominant positions. Recent victories showcase his finishing ability: a first-round submission of Donovan Beard in September 2022, a unanimous decision over Paul Craig in November 2024, and a third-round TKO of Rodolfo Vieira in November 2025.

However, Nickal suffered a significant setback in May 2025 when Reinier de Ridder knocked him out in the second round, exposing durability concerns that warrant attention. Despite the loss, his submission wins over Jamie Pickett and Cody Brundage demonstrate his capacity to finish fights decisively on the ground.

Nickal remains a credible middleweight prospect whose wrestling foundation and submission skills position him as a threat to ranked competition, though his striking defense and knockout resistance require refinement at the elite level.
