Grant Dawson

Grant Dawson, a 30-year-old switch-stance lightweight with a 23-3-1 record, operates as a well-rounded threat who blends grappling aggression with opportunistic striking. Over his career, Dawson has averaged 3.81 takedowns per 15 minutes at 39% accuracy while maintaining a 57% takedown defense rate, establishing him as a wrestler-first competitor.

His striking output of 3.21 landed strikes per minute at 52% accuracy complements a submission average of 1.1 per 15 minutes, making him a legitimate finishing threat on the ground. Recent performances highlight his versatility: he secured a second-round TKO against Rafa Garcia in October 2024, submitted Mark Madsen in the third round in November 2022, and earned a unanimous decision over Joe Solecki in June 2024, though a devastating first-round knockout loss to King Green in October 2023 exposed his vulnerability to explosive striking.

Dawson's 6-1 record across his last eight fights demonstrates resilience and consistency within the lightweight division's middle tier, where his wrestling-centric approach and submission skills position him as a dangerous matchup for strikers lacking takedown defense.
