Magomed Ankalaev

Magomed Ankalaev holds a 21-2-1 professional record (1 NC) and competes as an orthodox light heavyweight standing 6'3" with a 75-inch reach. The Dagestani striker operates as a volume-based fighter with measured output, landing 3.65 strikes per minute at 52% accuracy while maintaining solid defensive mechanics at 56% strike defense.

Ankalaev's grappling remains supplementary—he averages 0.79 takedowns per 15 minutes at just 22% accuracy but defends takedowns at an elite 87% rate, rarely relying on submissions with a 0.0 average per 15 minutes. His recent fight history shows mixed results: he secured a dominant unanimous decision over Aleksandar Rakic in October 2024, but suffered a devastating first-round knockout loss to Alex Pereira in October 2025, one of the most significant setbacks of his career.

Earlier wins include a first-round finish of Ion Cutelaba in 2020 and a unanimous decision over Volkan Oezdemir in 2021. Ankalaev's technical, pressure-based approach has proven effective against mid-tier competition, though recent performances suggest vulnerability against elite strikers with explosive finishing power.
