Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Elina Svitolina — Match recap

Elina Svitolina defeated Ekaterina Alexandrova 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 in the quarter-finals of the WTA Masters 1000 event in Toronto on hard court. Svitolina, the pre-match favourite at 1.36 odds, delivered a convincing performance after dropping the opening set, dominating the middle frame with a bagel before closing out the match in straight sets. Alexandrova, who carried longer odds at 3.2, could not maintain the momentum from her first-set success and capitulated significantly in the second and third sets. Svitolina's emphatic turnaround advances her to the semi-finals and demonstrates her capacity to reset tactically after early setbacks.
