Brendson Ribeiro vs Zhang Mingyang — Fight recap

Zhang Mingyang stopped Brendson Ribeiro via KO/TKO in the first round at 2:41 on February 17, 2024, with referee Mike Beltran officiating. Despite landing 14 significant strikes at 45% accuracy, Ribeiro could not weather Zhang's more efficient striking, who connected on 17 of 28 significant strikes (60% accuracy) while recording one knockdown.

Neither fighter attempted takedowns or engaged in extended grappling, keeping the bout strictly on the feet where Zhang's superior precision proved decisive. Ribeiro's output—all directed at the head with no body or leg strikes—failed to disrupt Zhang's forward pressure in a brief but decisive striking exchange.

The quick finish marks a significant setback for Ribeiro's momentum in the division.
