Joanderson Brito vs Jonathan Pearce — Fight recap

Joanderson Brito submitted Jonathan Pearce via submission in the second round at 3:54 on November 18, 2023, with referee Herb Dean officiating. Despite being significantly outstriked—Pearce landed 14 of 16 significant strikes (87%) compared to Brito's 8 of 20 (40%)—Brito capitalized on his grappling advantage.

Brito converted his only takedown attempt at 100%, while Pearce managed just 1 of 4 (25%), and controlled 1:58 of mat time before securing the finish. Pearce's superior striking accuracy and control time of 6:15 proved insufficient against Brito's submission threat, which materialized when Brito executed his sole submission attempt.

The victory demonstrates how dominant grappling can neutralize striking superiority in the cage.
