Dominick Cruz

Dominick Cruz, fighting out of an orthodox stance at 5'8" and 135 pounds, holds a professional record of 24-4-0 and has compiled a 6-2 record across his eight most recent fights. Cruz is a volume striker and defensive technician, averaging 3.91 strikes landed per minute with 33% accuracy while maintaining a 70% striking defense rate that showcases his ability to slip and avoid incoming damage.

His wrestling credentials are solid, posting a 2.82 takedown average per 15 minutes with 83% takedown defense, though his 42% takedown accuracy suggests he's selective rather than relentless on the mat. Notable recent performances include a dominant unanimous decision victory over Demetrious Johnson in 2011, a devastating first-round knockout of Takeya Mizugaki in 2014, and a split-decision win against Casey Kenney in 2021, though he suffered a second-round knockout loss to Henry Cejudo in 2020.

Cruz's fighting style emphasizes footwork, timing, and ring control rather than raw power or submission threats, making him a cerebral competitor in the bantamweight division. With a career spanning nearly two decades, Cruz remains a credible veteran presence in a division that continues to evolve around him.
