Song Yadong

Song Yadong, known as "Kung Fu Kid," holds a professional record of 22-9-1 with one no-contest and competes as an orthodox striker at bantamweight (135 lbs). The 26-year-old Chinese fighter operates as a volume striker with moderate output, landing 4.42 strikes per minute at 43% accuracy while defending at 55%.

Yadong maintains solid takedown defense at 73%, though his offensive grappling remains limited at 0.78 takedowns per 15 minutes with 39% accuracy, indicating a primarily striking-based approach. His recent run shows inconsistency: he scored impressive first-round finishes over Julio Arce via KO/TKO and Marlon Moraes via knockout, but suffered a doctor's stoppage loss to Cory Sandhagen in September 2022 and dropped a unanimous decision to top contender Petr Yan in March 2024.

That loss to Yan—a former champion—marked a reality check at the elite level, exposing gaps in his technical precision and decision-making against world-class opposition. Yadong remains a dangerous mid-tier threat capable of explosive moments, but must string together consistent performances to climb back into title contention.
