Tony Ferguson

Tony Ferguson, sporting a 26-11 professional record, is an Orthodox-stance lightweight known for his unorthodox striking approach and submission prowess. The 40-year-old American lands 4.91 strikes per minute with 45% accuracy while absorbing 4.37 strikes per minute and defending 55% of incoming strikes, reflecting a high-volume, durable fighting style.

Ferguson's submission average of 0.9 per 15 minutes underscores his threat off his back and in scrambles, though his takedown average of 0.39 per 15 minutes with 35% accuracy indicates he's not primarily a grappler. His recent record shows 6 wins and 2 losses over his last eight fights, with notable victories including a submission win over Kevin Lee in October 2017, a knockout of Anthony Pettis in October 2018, and a unanimous decision over Rafael Dos Anjos in November 2016.

However, Ferguson has faced setbacks against elite competition, losing a submission decision to Beneil Dariush in May 2021 and falling to Nate Diaz via submission in September 2022. Now in his late career, Ferguson remains a crafty veteran capable of exploiting mistakes through submissions and volume striking, though consistency against top-ranked opponents has proven elusive in recent years.
