Anna Melisano vs Dione Barbosa — Fight recap

Dione Barbosa submitted Anna Melisano via submission in the first round at 4:04 on July 18, 2026. Barbosa controlled the fight from the opening bell, landing 5 of 7 significant strikes (71%) while Melisano managed only 2 of 6 (33%).

Barbosa secured one takedown and maintained 3:31 of control time, establishing a dominant grappling position that allowed her to threaten with two submission attempts before finishing the job. Melisano offered minimal offensive output, failing to land a takedown and accumulating zero control time, leaving her unable to dictate range or escape Barbosa's ground pressure.

The striking efficiency gap and Barbosa's superior grappling prowess—particularly her body work, connecting on all three body strike attempts—proved decisive in the early submission. Barbosa's performance suggests she is ready for a step up in competition within her division.
